One thing that all doctors can agree on is that, in order to live a healthy life, you need to exercise. That being said, you may find it hard to get up and go to the gym, or you may work a nine-to-five job that requires you to sit at a desk all day. It’s easy to find excuses not to workout, despite the fact that we all know it’s necessary to get up and moving.
At 5280 Fitness and Sports Performance, we want to help you reach your full potential. We’ve created programs to help you lose weight, eat right, and build muscle. As your Top Rated Local® fitness center for Westminster Colorado, our goal is to help you achieve your fitness goals. Whether you’re interested in losing weight, improving your sports performance, or you want to incorporate health and wellness into your business with our corporate wellness program, 5280 Fitness and Sports Performance is here to help! Taking part in a fitness program at 5280 Fitness and Sports Performance is a great way to get exercise; however, it may not be possible to get there every day. In part one of this multi-part series, we will give you a few simple ways that you can get your daily exercise without even realizing it!
Take The Stairs
Opting to take the stairs instead of the elevator is one of the easiest ways to get your daily exercise. By taking the stairs, you are working your muscles in a positive way, and while you may be a bit winded at the top, at least you did something active. Plus, if you start taking the stairs every day, there’s a good chance that, over time, it will get easier, and you won’t notice as much of a strain on your lungs.
If, for some reason, you are unable to take the stairs the whole way to the top, it’s still better to do some than none. Try taking just one flight of stairs and then switching to the elevator. Even if you don’t do all the stairs, you can have the satisfaction of knowing that you tried.
Go For A Hike
For those who live in Colorado, you know that there is never a shortage of hiking trails. Instead of watching TV on the weekends, try getting up and doing something active, even if it’s only for half an hour. Hiking is a great way to walk through nature and get your exercise at the same time. You could even plan on hiking to a pretty spot where you spend the rest of the day reading, or give your dog a chance to stretch his or her legs and check out new surroundings. We’re not saying you should go and tackle a 14,000-footer on your first day; even just a short hike will be a great way to exercise!
Be A Tourist
No matter how long you’ve lived in a certain area, chances are, you haven’t seen everything there is to see. Take a couple of hours to walk around your city or town and check out some of the local spots that you haven’t seen before. Maybe there’s a nearby park that you’ve been meaning to check out, or a brewery that you would like to tour. No matter how you choose to explore your town, as long as you’re walking, you’re getting exercise!
